B Medical Center 5 Minute Action Steps to a HEALTHY BRAIN

Lifestyle Alzheimer's Prevention Tools

You CAN do something to protect your brain from Alzheimer's Disease!

The Alzheimer's Association says that Alzheimer's Disease affects over 5 million Americans. About 1 in 3 seniors dies with Alzheimer's. Alzheimer's kills more people than breast cancer and prostate cancer combined. The tragedy of cognitive decline will cost the American economy over $1 trillion by 2050.

Big pharma has created exactly ZERO effective drugs for Alzheimer's Disease and drug trials have a 99.6% failure rate.

It's hard to watch someone we know - a family member or friend - who has been affected by cognitive decline. It's even worse when someone close, like a parent or a spouse, suffers memory loss. Thinking about losing your own memory can be the most frightening prospect of all.

Alzheimer's develops gradually over 20-30 years. By the time you start showing symptoms, it's often very advanced disease and extremely difficult to treat..

But what if there were some things you could do NOW to prevent that devastating diagnosis?

There's been an explosion of new information over the past decade that shows there are steps we can take to prevent cognitive decline. This program goes through 12 key areas of risk for losing our memory and what we can do about them, including:

  • treating head trauma and concussions - even if they were decades in the past
  • selecting both WHAT we eat as well as WHEN to decrease our risks for memory loss
  • avoiding insulin resistance (or pre-diabetes) - a major risk factor for Alzheimer's and other health issues
  • letting go of stress
  • targeted nutritional supplements and hormones - based on testing and scientific evidence rather than guesswork
  • high blood pressure control
  • your family, friends, and community
  • brain training
  • regular exercise
  • at least 7 hours of quality sleep every night
  • inflammation - the fire that's burning down your whole body
  • no smoking, toxins, molds - including some you never realized were affecting your brain

You may be familiar with my Simple Hormones patient education programs. A diagnosis of Alzheimer's in my immediate family has led me to add preventive brain health to my hormone optimization programs.

Over the past few years, I've discovered an explosion of research from multiple healthcare practitioners and researchers including Dr. Dale Bredesen, Dr. Ann Hathaway, Dr. Ken Sharlin, Dr. Jason Fung, Dr. David Perlmutter, Nutritionists Amy Berger and Nicholas Norwitz, and many others. I've learned that genetics are not our destiny and that targeted lifestyle changes provide hope for people with elevated genetic risks. My goal is to provide patient education about Alzheimer's prevention so we can all protect our cognitive abilities for as long as possible.

My background is as a compounding pharmacist, licensed in UT, CO, OR, MS. I've earned an Advanced Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (ABHRT) Certification from Worldlink Medical and a C4 Hormone Replacement Therapy Certification from Professional Compounding Centers of America (PCCA). I've also been certified as a Brain Health Coach from Amen Clinics.
